I know it takes me ages to get to understand things but two questions. Can I send a private message to anyone and is this the right board for asking this sort of question?
I look around and often do not see what is in front of me.

Yes. Look to the right of your user-name at the top of the page and you will see Inbox. Click on that and it will take you through to the Conversations - that's what private messages are called. A read of this thread will also help you.

I would advise anyone coming to the site and who like me may be nervous, try it and see how user friendly it is. There seems always someone to help and guide you. If I can......anyone can.
