Welcome to Top Dog, astoness. :) I think that you have already found out how friendly our folk are :D

Enjoy the forum. :)

Welcome Astoness, here you will find help, friendship, laughter, the odd rant or two (well got to get it off our chests - saves hubby getting it lol) and most of all the barmiest bunch you'll come across. Sit back with a cuppa and join in the funC|:-)

Hi Lyn.....is your left click at the bottom of your post?? After the last word and period? The smilies usually go where the cursor is. If that makes any sense. :D

Greetings from Australia Lyn! C|:-) Great to have you with us! :) I see that some of the other gabby ones have already got in before me and have not left much for me to say except that I have personally had more help from the wonderful folk on this forum than on any other I have ever been on, including just in the past couple of weeks, knocking down a huge brick wall that I have had for probably at least 15 years! That all came from a cheeky remark I made at the end of one of my totally unrelated emails, that if anyone should happen to come across a baptism for my ggg grandfather (name and details given), please send him to me, and before the day was over, there he was, thanks to Findem!{-(^^)-}

Following this momentous 'find' by the aptly named Findem, another wonderful member, Blackmogs,{-(^^)-} went out of her way to drive many miles to the Essex Record Office to research the details I now had to hand, and she was able to verify his parentage etc. so away I went. I have now added some 35 new family to my tree and have taken that line back a further 3 generations to my 6 x g grandparents!:D:D

The friendliness and good natured chats often keep me in good spirits when I am down, and it is like being a member of a wonderful family. I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do. Cheers Diana PS My Dad hailed from Stoke on Trent....not so very far from you!

So it seems that Diana is back in the land of the living :) and Ferrfuzz's human name is Nikki...so there we are. ;)

And forget the 'hoover' you have just retired it. By the way, we call them vacuum cleaners in this neck of the woods.
Yes, AM, back in the land of the living at last! :) Been snooping around though....just not very voiciferous! :D:D

Interesting. Not seen this before. Before turning your computer on try unplugging the mouse then reconnecting. Long shot but maybe...

Happens with me a fair bit, Doug. I insert the smiley and see if it's where I want it, if not I delete, go to the desired spot, click, re-insert and it works. Don't even notice it much any more, just part of the routine of posting.

Thanks Philippa. Looks like a minor forum software glitch.

Cut & paste also works ;) relocate it where you want it to be. Often happens to me if I've been back to add a letter etc.
