Still the Mad Scientist?
This is possibly the baptismal record, Snitterfield Warwickshire 25 Feb 1709/10, for my 7x great-grandmother Hannah Perry, and I would value the opinions of more expert readers than me.

Bapt: Hannah the Daughter of [blank] and Elizabeth Perry [er]. Playing around with the image in Photoshop seems to confirm Perry, with a blank space before the strange bit at the end. Other entries have a similarly shaped upper case P.
 
Just to say the original image is on Ancestry under Warwickshire Baptisms etc 1535-1812
 
I'm sorry but it defeats me but the man's name is obviously very short e.g. John (I notice that the vicar doesn't seem to go in for truncating names unnecessarily). I must say that what you call a P looks very much like an S to me and the name ends in er as part of the name and not an afterthought.

I wonder if the Record Office could look at the entry under ultra-violet light?
 
Ah…searching the Ancestry Warwickshire search page just with Snitterfield as the location and Elizabeth as the mother, reveals Job and Elizabeth Sumner baptising Anne in 1707 and Elizabeth in 1707. I'd put money on your entry being that for Hannah Sumner.
 
A big, big thank you to Flook, and you Ann. Following Flook's post no 5 I have spent more time torturing the image in Photoshop, and the surname is definitely Sumner. You have stopped me from wandering down the wrong garden path and for that I am extremely grateful. Thankfully Hannah's marriage entry is crystal clear, but as to when and where she was born, back to the drawing board.

Out of interest there is already a marriage record between John Perry and Elizabeth Phillips in an adjoining parish sitting in my Shoebox.
