I see her Father George was a clergyman so that may explain their moving about before going to USA.

Elizabeth's death- image on Famiy search 1906- also states birth, England.

The term Clergyman is in referance to the persons name above that did the marriage. Her dad was a brick mason. Each of her 3 husbands only lasted about 6 years after the marriage

More than likely you are seeing the public family tree I have already built. I've been at it for about 4 years.
 
Don, I went to All records in Ancestry then USA then Massachusetts, & chose this:
All Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988
Original data: Town and City Clerks of Massachusetts. Massachusetts Vital and Town Records. Provo, UT: Holbrook Research Institute (Jay and Delene Holbrook).

I don't tend to visit family trees often as they can be very misleading, & I do like to see the actual source.

There are marriages for Georges' parents, John and Joan and for Lucy's parents, Thomas and Mary, on Freereg.org.uk

Georges parents had children baptised between 1788 - 1809 in Ilminster, Somerset

Thank you. I'll use that link to find the others. I did my DNA via Ancestry and found several Armstrong matches that had a well built out family tree but it was marked as Private and they refused to help me at all. On the other hand I've connected with people in Nova Scotia and Ireland that are remotly related and we have helped each other.

That's an index record but not the actual records. If you get a hit on those you need to drive to Boston and the main Massachusettes archives in the building next to the JFK library in order to see all the info which is why I using avoid indexes. That's a 190 mile round trip for me.
 
Using Freereg.org I've been able to put much more together. I can cross check and verify the Lucy Barber did Marry George Armstrong via Freereg.org plus I find the births of both daughters also in Illminster and have included the info in my public family tree on Ancestry. All of their birth dates cross check fairly close with the US census records. I always cross check and verify because of bad / missing leads I have gotten from trees that were created via the first hit someone had. I notice the Illminster area has very few hits in Ancestry or several other web sites I use but then again I'm looking at early 1800 and back into the 1700's.

As near as I can tell Lucy Barber 1808-1859 is the first born of 7 children Jublee 1809 , Charlotte 1811, Malachi 1815-1892, Maria 1815 ,Elizabeth 1815 and Jane 1818. The parents are Thomas Barber 1788 - 1853 Mary Seagar 1872. I can't get any firther back than that because records I se are incomplete so I don't include it. All of that info is in Illminster Somerset.

Looking at George Armstrong his father is John Armstrong baptised in Somerset Bruton 24 Sep 1764 but no death death and his mother was Joan Wills 17 May 1767 Cannington Illminster Somerset no death info. I have had multiple matching hits on Joan Wills extended family via Ancestry. John's father was James Armstrong Jnr married 24 sep 1764 Frome Somerset to Mary Morel. That's as far back as I can get.
 
I believe Lucy had other siblings: Benjamin (1816) Sarah (1823-) Peter (1826-76) Thomas (1826) and Henry Courtney (1828-1905) What do you think?
 
Did you find that info via Freereg also? When I hit other family tree hits via Ancestry they really messed me up because people repeated parent's names but then included hits from two generations on one person or repeated both generation's hits on each person so I try to stick with one source to cross check and verify. Unless people in England can be born before their parents!

Yes, look on Free Reg. You will find that they had two "job lot" baptisms, one on 19 May 1823 and another on 25 Dec 1829. If you correlate them with the subsequent censuses, you can see if they are the same family. Note: the mother of Sarah is recorded as Elizabeth and not Mary, but I would suggest that this an error. The vicar was possibly confused with the child Elizabeth baptised on the same day.
