Great excitement for you Sis 8(:-) and how come you get surgeons and gentlemen? Are you special? We just get crims....
No more special than you AM. Wouldn't mind a crim or two though, sometimes they can be more exciting. But Lizzy has now whetted my appetite about the Yonge's. Rare time totally to myself, so off I go Yonge searching. :D
 
I found a bit at The National Archives about Jeremiah being admitted to a 'Lunatic Asylum' in 1825. Not digitised so I have requested a quote for a copy.

I too can't find marriage of Jeremiah & Eliza
Jeremiah Jenkins of the parish of Prittlewell in the county of Essex, a bachelor
and Eliza Young of this parish of Beckbury in the county of Salop, spinster.
Married in this church by license.
This fourth day of August in the year one thousand eight hundred and seven, by me John Jenkins, Officiating Minister.

I will Lizzy, sounds intriguing. Just discovered he's American, haven't got an American 'til now. Well actually it's OH's tree his 4 x Gt Grandfather, but what's his is mine, in his tree that is, as he's no really interested in what he calls "dead people" :rolleyes: Off I go:D
 
From the London Gazette 20th July 1827

Pursuant to an Order of the Right Honourable the Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain, made in the matter of Jeremiah Jenkins, a lunatic, the creditors of the said Jeremiah Jenkins, of Shrewsbury, in the County of Salop, Doctor of Physic, are forthwith to come in and prove their debts before James Stephens Esq., one of the Masters of the Court of Chancery, at his Chambers, in Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London, or, in default thereof, they will be excluded from the said Order.

I have just downloaded the will of William John Yonge from The National Archives. It consists of 7 pages, too late to try and read it now, so I guess it will make a bit of light reading tomorrow:)
