Recently got a small collection of black and white photos from my sister.They are relations on my Mothers side.Majority of people in photos i never seen before.Some have dates on back of them.Others have nothing.Is there any way of finding out who these people are?

The only thing I could suggest would be if you have any idea where the people in them may have lived see if there is a local internet site for the location then upload the images and ask if anyone recognises them.

When going through the family bible we found a teeny weeny black and white happy snap of a wedding. Son blew it up and cleaned it up and there in the middle was an older lady who seriously looked like my father's mother. Then the penny dropped. It must have been her mother, Susannah Vale but we had no idea who all the others were. So my sister got onto a relative in Western Australia and we now have just about sorted them all out. It was wedding in 1936 in Pinjarra of her youngest daughter and most of her siblings. A real treasure to have.
So asking distant relatives or even close ones sometimes gets you on the right track. Good luck.

I presume you have a family tree to refer to. Sort in date order the ones that are dated. Try and add others in roughly the date order by looking at the faces, ages and clothing. If you have a wedding, look at your tree to see if it might be someone in your tree that corresponds with the date. It won't prove who they are but could give you a starting point. Show your 'guess' to other members of the family or friends to see if they can help.
 
You will have to be a detective and try to date them. You could always post them here [if they are deceased] There are many excellent sleuths who I am sure can pinpoint to a certain era. Then it will be trying to sort out who they may be. Good luck with it.

A very small few are dated,late 1920s and mid 1930s.
