1939 Census

Hi all,
I am coming across a few entries where the future married name of a resident is transcribed on the census entry. For example Olwen Davies is transcribed as Alwyn Pugh (Davies) Born 27th May 1933 (RG101/3633E/023/37 Letter code KMQR) She went on to marry a John C Pugh in 1955.

This is because the 1939 register was also used as a basis for NHS records, the NHS coming into being in 1948.

My mother is on the 1939 register as a 9-year-old Margaret HART with her married name of MILSTED added later. She wed my Dad in 1952.

I found these additions invaluable for sorting out who 5 of my (Taylor) great aunts married. Two of the records even gave the dates of their marriage.
