Good Afternoon all, I cancelled FMP after Ancestry had the 1939 census on their site. Typically I have just tried to search the 1939 census on Ancestry and I get no mention of this census. Would anyone be kind enough to find out who was the Railway Station Master of Kingsland, Herefordshire and his age please?
Have you any idea of the address where the person would be? I did a search - no name, occupation - Station Master, Place - Kingsland, Herefordshire and got 7 results. Can't see how you can tell which one would be the one you are looking for.
Robert S Treeman b 26/9/1898 - Railway Station Master Edith A Treeman b 7/3/1896 - unpaid domestic duties plus 1 redacted entry Living at Station house
To find the 1939 register on Anc. Go to Card Catalogue from drop down 'Search' put 1939 register in Title Box - it should be in the census category (and says it is) but it does not appear in the census drop down (unless I am doing it wrong)
Just discovered if you go to Census Collection and then click on UK Census Collection, when it loads, scroll down to Included Data Collections and it is 4 from the last.
As Jellylegs says there are 7 'hits' on FMP the Treeman's Address says Station House Leominster & Wigmore R D At Station House, Etnam St. Leominster MB is a Maurice W Bott 18/6/1880 a Railway Station Master with Mary L Bott 26/5/1882 At The Station House Kington RD is Abraham F Rawlings 4/4/1887 a Railway Station Master with Harriet E Rawlings 6/12/1890 + 2 redacted entries The other 4 entries are 3 retired station masters and 1 relief station master. Best you check these on Anc. to decide which is the station at Kingsland
when you put your search name in under all categories press census press on 1930 it brings up a list and 1939 is amongst it.
