A Reverend?

I haven't looked at the will for clues (which might discount the following), but since his death was reported in a Westmorland newspaper, I wonder if he was the John Shepherd son of Richard of Beckermot, Cumberland, gent, who matriculated at Queen's College, Oxford in 1777 (source: Joseph Foster's Alumni Oxonienses). This might of course help in identifying the mystery grandparent named on the back of the silhouette.

1821. The Evangelical Magazine and Missionary Chronicle, an advertisement appears for a private girls school, ('Parlour Boarders') run by a Mrs Lees, Surrey House, Brixton Hall, Brighton Road five miles from Town, Surrey.
One of her referees was Rev John Shepherd, Lecturer of St Giles, 8 Brewers Green, Tothill Fields.
