He looks a fair bit older than 22 though but you never know.There is a John Nock born 1781, I believe it said, in Plymouth, US in the early 1800's. My computer is being grouchy tonight and I can't get on Anc. to double check. It did say something about British troops.
I can’t find any more on J Nock but two auction house descriptions of this silhouette. So I guess he wasnt very prolific.I have found the auction for this piece online. It is the profile portrait of an officer. Water colour on paper. The artist is J Nock of Plymouth and it was painted in 1803. At least that’s how I read the description.
