Any clues as to the word to the left of John Harries?

The image is from the 1891 census RG12/4597/72/32. It shows Mary Harries and her family, with Mary being noted as wife crossed out and Head inserted it also shows Mary as being married. To the left in the address column her husband John Harries is notated but I cannot read the word in front of his name.

Any ideas gratefully received.

The version on Ancestry is clearer:



I think that it could say "Printed John Harris" to denote that the husband was entered as the Head rather than Mary but changed as he was not there.

Just a thought...

This has intrigued me. I've just been through the whole census.
The same hand - I would suggest the person who wrote in the names of the Wards on page 1, and has entered W1/W3/W4 beside every entry. (Also the numbers down the left side. And possibly notes such as deceased and Non Reg)

The word certainly looks like PRINTED. (Definitely P????ED) Could it be Welsh?
And the surname usually corresponds with the surname in the entry.
But not always.

Could it be someone at a later date comparing these pages with the original notes? Making corrections? Filling in names that have been missed in transcription?

Ah. That last example (address Blue Bell) could be:
"Printed Susan" followed by the writer's name "W Jones".
There's another entry that appears to have the writer's initials:
