I suppose I've put the cart before the horse somewhat on here, so perhaps I'd better introduce myself properly!
I live in France, now, but my roots are in Derbyshire, in the first instance, with antecedants in Devon (the Till family of Otterton), Wales (the Evans family of Knighton), Lancashire/Cheshire (the Waterhouse family of Whaley Bridge), and the Beck family (who appear to be everywhere!).
Having said that, my husband hails from the former Yugoslavia (Serbia), my daughter is married to a Frenchman, has two girls, and lives here in France, and one of my sons is married to a Taiwanese girl, and lives there. My other son and his family live in the UK, so, as you can imagine, the thought of 'Brexit' fills me with not a little trepidation, especially as I was unable to vote on it!
When I'm not researching family history, I make quizzes for sporcle
(shameless plug), or make jewellery (mainly earrings) for local craft fairs.
