Robert Walker (yes still ploughing through them) married 26th April 1694 in Huddersfield St Peter to Mary who?

Morton - it seems to be a predominantly Yorkshire surname.

FMP have the image too, It seems easier to read as Mary Morton

Thank you that is what I read, but the transcription has Morion. I can see why, but I thought the dot was from the 'y' above (why I included it in the snip), and there is a feint cross on the letter to form a 't'.

I have more Mortons, but in Deptford in the 1800's
