Can anyone find Rosina Scott?

Ma-dotcom

A Bonza Little Digger!
My 1cx2r John Scott married Rosina Bushby 25 Nov. 1916 at St. James Bermondsey, UK.
On 9 July 1917 John died in an internal explosion on the vessel "Vanguard" in the Scarpa Flow, Orkney Islands, Scotland.

I have not been able to positively find Rosina after this time.
Her birth was registered in March quarter of 1895 in Bermondsey, Baptised 31 March 1897 at St. Crispin, Bermondsey. Pts. John & Charlotte.
1901 census RG13; Piece: 393; Folio: 76; Page: 17.

There is a wealth of Rosina Scotts about but few born as 'Scott' in the same area. I've looked in FreeBMD for deaths & marriages with no real luck so far. Also a few of her siblings to see if she was with any of them.

One possible sighting was in 1921 workhouse "12 'Robert'? house, Kenton St WC1-admitted + discharged. Mon. Feb. 13 1922"
Yet another 1821-"settlement papers for Hackney"- but she has an 8mth old son George, believe she was married to a George going by Baptism records.

I'd Hoped to find her in 1939 but only one suited, - name 'Hatch' whose marriage was in 1928 West Ham, as there was a Rosina Scott living there I cancelled that one out.
Several Rosinas in Electoral reisters but all with a partner.
:headbang:
Although Rosina was not closely related to me, I's like to see her settled & her file tidy, so if anyone anywhere can please assist in finding more on her I'd be very thankful.
TIA. :)

I have just checked the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website for John's death and the further information says:

Son of William and Emma Scott; husband of Rosina Scott of 6 Pitt Street, Commercial Rd., Peckham, London.

So, she was still in the Bermondsey area, Peckham being just a couple of miles down the road from Bermondsey.

Thanks Jan, yes I tried for Peckham in later years but no go.

@Genie1 thank you also, I have not been able to find that family but went all over the electorals again. I did wonder if she went to the site of the disaster but nothing has shown up.

Thank you both for trying. xx

Hovering over the 1921 census has a Rosina Scott born Bermondsey 1895, and in the Parish and registration Camberwell In the household are Rosina, Charles R and Edith plus one more.

Fiddling even more with the free searches, I found that the other people with with Rosina Scott are the Quick family,
Charles R b1898 Peckham
Edith b1901 Bermondsey
Charles R b1920 Peckham
using the GRO index, Charles R b1920 has a mmn of Bushby.

So it looks like it is your Rosina, and is with her sister (?) in 1920:)

only problem there is edith bushby has a MMN Wooding and Rosina has MMN Bishop
John Busby m Charlotte Bishop 1873 St Olaves
John & Charlotte was was what Wendy put in 1st thread

a John & Fanny Wooding m woburn 1885

On the 1911 census RG14 PN1900 SN159
4 Bisley Gardens, Bermondsey
John and Charlotte are with 5 of their children, the youngest being Edith age 9 (b1902)
Edith birth reg Sept qtr 1901 St Olave 1d 202 mmn Bishop

Just amazing is what you is @MollyMay & @Sandiep a close runner up!8(:-)
I didn't check Edith in 1939, by then I guess I was aiming too far out. I'd checked older siblings first.

Thank you both so very much. I will send for that record of 1921 it may have to do as a closing one for Rosina, unless I can find else.

@Genie1 an apology to you, as I didn't go further with your find, too much coming & going from computer I think put it from my mind.
thank you.

{-(^^)-}all.

I have the transcript & Image of the above- [spendthrift me] I was happy to see that all of those also present in the same workplace were named. Of course I went through Family names to see if any matched. So far- no.
