This is part of a service record from WW1 for a relative of a friend whose family I am tracing.

I can read most of it, but a couple of words defeat me
Front mandible ..........? ..........? left side, rifle bullet injury: lodged in soft palet
Bullet removed, now has long vision.

Poor chap was back on active service in the space of a couple of months.....
 
I think you're right, @arthurk. There is only one dot to the second word and the first letter of the first does appear to be a 'b'. Also that would suggest he was fit and ready to return to service?
 
Might the last two words be 'bony union'?
