Can I have this one interpreted please, yet another Pamphilon

Found another Marriage Allegation for Richard Pamphilon and Joane Woodley, same date, different place.

It's under the heading 2 June on the first page.

Titled: London & Surrey Marriage Bonds and Allegations 1597 - 1921 the date is 2 Jun 1638, like the the other Allegation which named a church as St Faith.

In this one however I don't think it's naming Richard's parish as Widdington and from what little I can make out it's giving Joane the age of 40. The Allegation looks to me as though it's stating the couple are Widdow and Widdower. All followed by a whole heap of stuff I just can't make out, other than a odd word or two.

From what I can make out it's definitely different to the Allegation which mentions St Faith.

Looks like Richard and Joan were dithering as to where they should marry, weird.

Be very grateful if someone can sort that mess out for me.

Apologies it's not dated 2 June, it's 2 March 1638.

So that makes it Marriage Allegation mark 1 and the St Faith Allegation mark 2.

You have to wonder where the couple were actually living when Richard made the Allegation.

? day appeared personally Richard Pamphilon of the parish of Widdington in the County of Essex a yeoman and a bachelor aged about 24 and alledgeth (?) that has [?] to marry with Joane Woodley of the parish of Kirkling*(?) in the County aforesaid maiden aged about 22 years and with the consent of her father John Woodley of Kirkling*(?) aforesaid yeoman and of the ? of the ?? as aforesaid showed no unlawful ? or impediment by reason of any ? consanguinity affinity or any other ? to hinder ? intended marriage [cant make out most of this line] to be ? in the parish church of st Ffaithes

I think it’s This day appeared Richard PAMPLYN....
However JohnWoodley died in 1669. He left to Joan Pamphilon his youngest daughter all his freehold messuage and tenement in Rickling with all the freehold land belonging. And after her decease I give the same unto Richard Pamphilon my grandchild.....
It seems that Joan was quite the favourite. Joan had a sister Elizabeth who got 5 shillings......
Found some of this on her biography on wiki tree with a translation of the marriage bond. All that could be deciphered anyway.

Yes it is Rickling.

Thanks for that Andromeda, much appreciated, so it is the same Allegation but March not June as I thought the other one stated, I completely missed the St Faith part in this one.

Joane married into a family of Violin Makers so perhaps John Woodley liked Violins and that's why she became john's favourite daughter, perhaps not.

The Pamphilon family had property so were a family of standing in the community, so no doubt John was pleased Joane 'married well'. In case you haven't seen my post on here "a bit perplexing" it has quite a bit on those Pamphilons.

Btw Sue I found a tree on Ancestry which has Sarah Pamphelon in it, this tree has Sarah's birth as 1651 so another guesstimate.

Interestingly though the tree shows Joane as the daughter of John and Margaret Woodley and baptised 1619 at Widdington., since pre 1666 PRs for Widdington do not exist the date is questionable but the mother's name could well be correct.

I was going to call it a day on this family but now I will try to find the burial of Margaret Woodley and see if there is an age mentioned.

One thing which didn't make sense were dates, the tree had Joane born 1619 at Widdington but it stated she was baptised 25 May 1617 at Melbourne, Cambridgeshire, perhaps John and Margaret Woodley were originally a Cambridgeshire couple.

There was some confusion over the children of Thomas Smith and his wife Sarah Pamphelon, FreeReg and Ancestry show all of the children born at Widdington 1667 to 1685, but the tree has one or two at Rickling.

Just one question, would it have been normal for an Essex person, Richard, to make an Allegation to marry in an Essex church, All Saints and St Faith, at Childerditch, next door to Brentwood, Essex and see the entry is under the title, London & Surrey Marriage Bonds and Allegations 1597 - 1921?
