Hmm, I prefer the Jamaican C of E records.......they are not quite as blunt. They use "outside child" instead of illegitimate. Just a tad nicer, LOL.

I had an unexpected 'base child' entry on the baptism of an eighth child last night, in a well-to-do family. Parents went on to have four more, apparently legitimate, and base child was recorded similarly on her burial at five weeks old. I hope they gave her love during her short life, but I wonder what went on there...
