So this is the other Terry (Dansey but not of the Knighton line) that started the thread with Terry.

Thanks to everyone who helped put the life of Celestin into more context than we had already.

Hello Terryd and welcome to Top Dog. The Danseys are a fascinating bunch - hope we can help you out with some more bits and bobs :)

Welcome to Top Dog terryd C|:-)
As AnnB and Molly May have said - a very interesting family!

Thanks all.

The Danseys do have one or two minor characters in the fold. For instance we have "Colonel Z", Claude Edward Marjoribanks Dansey who was involved at MI6 as Assistant Chief during WWII and is either a hero or a villain, whichever way you want to look at it, and in New Zealand we have Roger Ingram Dansey who introduced the Haka into NZ international rugby games.

It has been fun researching them. We have a ten man project team based around the world who like to challenge some of the stated Dansey history and either prove or disprove it with some interesting results.

My Dansey line is from Essex/Suffolk and we have hit a block there that I may introduce in time as DNA testing hasn't helped. It might be an obscure link that hours and hours of research have not turned up yet, or it might be that my GGG Grandfather is not a Dansey by birth and was adopted, but that is for another day.

So thanks again for the warm welcome, I hope to be able to add and assist others n the TD site, but I will need to put in some training considering the quality of responses regarding Celestin.

Have a good Sunday - Terry
