Edward Docherty death 1875

Edward Docherty who was only 23 appears to have committed suicide, if I read the death entry correctly but there is a further reference in the margin and looking at the further reference it is difficult to decipher.. so can you decipher it please

See registration of certificate (signature)Esq, December 6 1875? As in the second which goes into greater detail. Suicide by hanging certified by Doctor James Chalmers, Glasgow. The first only says 'suffocation'.

DETERMINED SUICIDE AT GLASGOW.- Yesterday, a case of determined suicide occurred on the south side. Edward Ducherty, a riveter, 23 years of age, and residing at 26 St Ninian Street, Glasgow, tied a rope to the railing on the second landing of the stair, and, putting it round his neck, deliberately flung himself over. He was the worse for liquor at the time, and it is said that when he was in that condition he always threatened to hang himself.
