See registration of certificate (signature)Esq, December 6 1875? As in the second which goes into greater detail. Suicide by hanging certified by Doctor James Chalmers, Glasgow. The first only says 'suffocation'.
Is that what you were after?

Edinburgh Evening News 22 October 1875
DETERMINED SUICIDE AT GLASGOW.- Yesterday, a case of determined suicide occurred on the south side. Edward Ducherty, a riveter, 23 years of age, and residing at 26 St Ninian Street, Glasgow, tied a rope to the railing on the second landing of the stair, and, putting it round his neck, deliberately flung himself over. He was the worse for liquor at the time, and it is said that when he was in that condition he always threatened to hang himself.

The margin note begins "See Reg. of Cor. Entries" - in other words "See Register of Corrected Entries". There's more information about this at
