Family Search - Help!

kernowmaid

Our very own Cornish Maid
Would someone PLEASE talk me through how to use Family Search?

I can log in - I can search - I can get transcribed results (same as appear on Ancestry) - but I can't see original documents!

I know this one exists: Abigail LUMSDEN, baptised 4 January 1789 at Easington, Co Durham. (There's a Tree on Ancestry showing the page, referencing Family Search, page 86, Easington:).
1789 LUMSDEN, Abigail.JPG

But all I can get is "No Image" (or words to that effect) and the transcribed details, which are wrong - baptised 1788.

I would like to be able to find things for myself!!

Research by location
Click on England
Select Durham County
Scroll under the search form to the image only section
Select the Bishops Transcripts
Select Durham
Select Easington
Select year range 1759-1851
In the viewer, enter page no 86
This should bring up the correct page, which you will have to zoom, etc to see the desired record.

Here's a link to the page, listing is toward bottom:

Mods, please clean this up if the images have made a mess or slow performance.

No problem. I have to do this all the time for my own searches. It's a lot slower if you don't already have the information (and the page number).;)
