Alfred GOODWIN was born on 31st March 1887 in Hampstead, London.

In the 1939 Register, he is in Bucklow, Cheshire, a widower working as a Shift manager for a paper Manufacturer.

However, I am having problems reading the actual address:

Is anyone able to help, please?

Many thanks :)

Not convinced - but Dubled Edge farm.
I am happy with Edge and that the first letter of the first word is a D, then 'u' it is the following bl[?] that troubles me, I think it does end ed

Me neither and I cannot find it by doing a search for farms in Bucklow in the 1940's although I can find Clay Lane Farm - not that that is much help!. I have looked for James W HIGGINSON in the Electoral Registers but the last entry I can find for him prior to the 1939 Register is in 1931 and he and wife Lydia are in Alderley Edge at that time. Sorry, Jan.

I can't find anything which fits in the papers, either searching for Edge Farm (in the hope that something would appear with a suitable word in front) the names of the other farms on the page, or for Goodwin or Higginson. I've searched the Cheshire RO catalogue but have come up with zilch. I looked at the Electoral Registers too. I suppose an e-mail to the Cheshire RO might bring forth an idea, there might be someone there who could shed a light on it.

Thank you all for checking - it is much appreciated. :)
