I've still got my father and father-in-law's flat 'ats. I have also been known to wear a flat 'at myself, being a country girl - my mum, too.

Interesting that it was actually law to wear one at one time.

My nan (london born and bred) b1881 always wore a flat cap, although I was only 6 when she died it is one of the few things I remember about her

A daughter used to wear her grandfather's flat cap when visiting and after he died she brought it home and still has it.
She also liked to use his carpet sweeper when there which was embarrassing as I used to hope that we didn't think his house was a mess.
