Ancestry has FREE access to WW1 Military records- limited time only. Any good?

Thanks Wendy, I had found some info on Ancestry but the originals are on Fold3.

Sorry no. I find it a big rip off Ancestry had these records - but now you have to pay more & more.

I haven’t got a sub to ancestry but if I had I wouldn’t pay extra to see records from a subsidiary, that is just money grabbing.

As Gillyflower says, we can't view the records that we attached to our trees prior to Ancestry moving those same records to Fold3- we'd already paid for those via our subscription at the time. It still rankles that I go to recheck info in my tree without thinking and the outstretched palm of Fold3 pops up. But then, I am grumpy.

I went to join a while ago, got a call of my bank's fraud squad as they thought is was suspicious. After they had blocked my card. After a conversation with them they lifted the block and said my card would be unblocked but I would need to retry and join, by then I had given up the will to live and didn't bother.
