Found you!!

I'm even more horizontally challenged at 5ft nothing......and yes, I can remember being 6 stone 7lb for many years and never believing I would get any heavier - hey ho

Ann
I'm not going to say, "well did you"

Hold that memory Ann.
I remember being 5.5 st in my busy working days. then I stopped.!( whisper) & we got a computer.

Thanks Wendy. Both good advice. Duly acted upon!

Tony (>6'2) - just to annoy the smallies

In PNG, Tony, you'd be called "long bone" in the lingua franca.

MM, 8.5 stone was my ideal weight for many years, then it all went pear shaped (literally) and I refuse to even acknowledge the current situation, particularly when it has to be converted to Kg. Stupid metrics - some things are never real in that version of things. I've learned to live with it as the entire family recognises what is called the "Davidson shape". (Damnation).

Well so far everybody is taller than me. I had better get a chair to stand on.
Makes me feel much better, although I do sympathise. I can't begin to imagine how it must feel to be able to reach the top shelf of a kitchen cupboard without assistance, in fact be able to reach anything without having to stand on something or ask someone to get it for me......

And yes Wendy, I think computers must take a lot of the blame for those few (I lie) extra pounds

Ann

6 stone 8 was my weight for years and being 5' 6" was terribly (?) skinny. 'More meat on a bicycle' as my dad would say. Now I am shorter and struggle not to be twice the weight I was - plenty of meat on the bicycle now!
The good thing about kilos is I do not recognise how heavy they are, so it does not bother me. Memo to self, must change the bathroom scales so they do not show stones and pounds and all my worries will be over:) well they would be if my wardrobe stopped shrinking my clothes!

I think I suffer the same as everyone, I've got fairies (nasty ones) in my cupboard that keep making my clothes smaller each evening although touch wood my weight is holding steady at 9 stone but I'm dreading retirement as I do love to bake (help!!!!)

My 12 year old niece is taller than me. :(

Today I am wearing a dress which says 'age 11-12 years' on the label. It's a bit big for me. :)

I know my 11 year old niece is nearly as tall as me... oh well back to being the shorty of the family:(

So, you are a youthful dresser. :) Lucky you to fit in one.Being tall, a dress that size would have fit me when I was about 8 years old

It strikes me that no matter what your height there's always going to be something just out of reach, I suppose it's just a question of some people have more things out of reach than others.

With those words of great wisdom stated I'll go and make my coffee. :)

Good morning, Findem. Just remember, tall people bump their heads a lot and after awhile I think it no longer knocks any sense into us :D

Hi Half Hour,

I suppose that's a valid point but I would have liked to have been nearer six foot.

Just like my weight,no matter how much I ate I couldn't put weight on I was always on the skinny side, I know some will say "half my luck" but I would have liked a little more meat on my bones. When I was called up to do my National Service my medical report noted that i was underweight for my height, I thought "you beauty, they'll reject me", they didn't! So luckily I got into the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers, had I gone into an infantry mob I would have been sent on a course to a Physical Training outfit, those PT instructors are all sadists, the Spanish Inquisition would have been proud of them. :)
