Florence May Gwyther was born in Abergavenny in 1895 the daughter of Henry & Martha Gwyther nee Harris.

She married Albert Griffin Morris on 13th February 1926 in St. Mary's, Abergavenny (have the original image from FMP).

Florence's father was a boot maker (correct) and Albert's father was a dockyard store man.

I've tried searching for Alberts birth but can't find one under that name.

The only one I can find is Alfred Griffiths Morris in 1894 in Pembroke MMN Vaughan.

1891 census. RG13/ 5122/31/21
8, Williamson Street, Pembroke St Mary, Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales
Thomas Morris, Head, Married, 49, Store house man, Pembrokeshire, Wales
Eliza Jane Morris, Wife, Married, 47, Thorne, Pembrokeshire, Wales
7 other children
and
Alfred Griffiths Morris, Son, 5, Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales

1911 still at the same address.

After the marriage in 1926 there is no sign of them.

Find-A-Grave has a death on 3 Sep 1959 in LaSalle, Montreal Region, Quebec, Canada for a Florence May Gwyther Morrison. with a snippet from the newspaper which reads:-

The Montreal Gazette - Sep 4, 1959
DEATHS
MORRISON, Florence May. At her residence 115 7th Ave Ville LaSalle on Thurs, September 3rd, 1959. Florence May Gwyther, beloved wife of Alfred Morrison, aged 63 years. Funeral on Sat. at 2.00 p.m. from the chapel of J W MacGillvray. 5644 Bannantyne Ave. Interment Mount Royal Cemetery.

Am I just mixing up different families here? If not, then why so many different names for her husband?

Don't know whether this is relevant or not, Chimp, but there is a UK Outgoing Passenger List record aboard the "Montroyal" which left Southampton on 30 March 1929 bound for St John Canada for an Alfred & Florence May MORRIS of 8 Williamson Street, Pembroke, he being aged 34 and a Plasterer, she being aged 33, a Housewife. The entry for both of them is then crossed through in pencil. This might be explained by a Canada Incoming Passenger List record for them both this time on board the "Montrose" departing from Liverpool and arriving at St John, Brunswick on 14 April 1929. This time the birthplace is shown as Pembroke for Alfred & Abergavenny for Florence which is almost certainly your Alfred & Florence May isn't it.

Thank you very much @janetbooth , that will be them, Alfred was a plasterer by trade according to their marriage entry.

Why he was married under the name Albert Griffin Morris when his name was Alfred Griffiths Morris is a bit of a mystery.

And why they changed their name from Morris to Morrison is strange too.

Thank you again.

Marriage on the GRO Index in the March qtr 1885 at Pembroke reg district for a Thomas MORRIS and one of the other names on the page is that of an Eliza Jane VAUGHAN. Ties in with the 1911 census record doesn't it.
