Greetings from North West Kent

Howdy Doug; nice photo. You can't beat a bit of retro. That's why I like the Shadow so much. It's not old - well, not too old (1996) but it looks old to me.

Do you ride yourself / Is the photo a self portrait? I hope to post a bike photo as my Avatar soon if I can shrink my image.

Hi Al.

My father on his 1936 red panther. My riding days are over however I had three Harleys over the years. Oh, and a 650 Katana.

Welcome to TD Biker Al C|:-)

Hi Biker Al, Welcome, I see you are not far from me as the crow flies! ;)

Thanks Busyglen. Yep, just a short hop over the new Swale Bridge, which I had the good fortune to pass under in a boat when it was being built (see photo). I used to share a 33 footer with a mate, which was moored at Allington Marina and in which we sailed up to Queenborough on a couple of occasions. But the marina fees just kept going up & up and the summers got wetter & wetter & so we reluctantly sold her. Fun while it lasted though.

That's a pity Doug. I guess the Oz climate is great for cruising. I've just returned from a weekend ride to Le Mans for the 24 hour car race, and dodging the showers I might add. Had a great time but it was marred by the death of a Danish driver shortly after the start. What a great atmosphere though & my first time at a race meeting. I'm not really into motor sport, or any sport for that matter, but I'll have to watch the next Grand Prix on the TV to see if I've caught the bug!

Having to deal with a sore rear and aching wrist now though. Thank God I decided not to ride to Spain in August with my mates. I think I need to build up to that sort of distance - as I'm not getting any younger either!

Sounds like a great time was had.

I used to be on the road every second weekend or so which builds up the endurance over time. :)
