I thought it only polite to introduce myself.
I've been researching my family history for a couple of years now, but only recently has it become a more serious study.
My main interests are the surnames Walsingham and Brightman (I have studies registered with the Guild of One-Name Studies), mostly in East Anglia, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey and London, but I'm very easily distracted by any intriguing tangents I stumble across!
My husband is completely bemused by my fascination for genealogy, so I thought it about time to seek out some like-minded folk, rather than continuing to inflict my hobby on him. For example, I was highly amused to come across a distant relative who was imprisoned in the 1800s for stealing his uncle's trousers, and charmed by my fifth great-uncle Christmas and his daughter Easter, but my husband remained unmoved on both counts!
Anyway, I look forward to learning from those who have more experience than I, and hopefully being able to share my own knowledge too.
