Ooo ta everyone. Don't be fooled by this seemingly innocent query. Joshua Warren married Priscilla Chant there in 1844, 17 June, they were the source of serious sleuthing in another thread. This onehttps://genealogy-specialists.com/threads/priscilla-warren.10157/
lots of you burned the midnight oil on it and what a chase it was. Now I would like to see if there is a marriage 'stificate which names his father as deceased.

Have emailed them

ukofficialrecords.co.uk/marriage_certificate/city/marriage-certificate-guernsey.asp
There seems to be a facility to order the certificate here.

Please be aware that the site ukofficialrecords.co.uk is not a government site, but a third party record agent. The charges they quote are considerably higher than those at any truly official site.

I haven't been following this thread, but on seeing this post I went to see what was available for Guernsey. It seems that their equivalent of the GRO is called the Royal Court, and for a marriage, these pages may be relevant:

In addition there is the Priaulx Library, which appears to house the island's archives, registers etc. It looks as though it might be possible to get non-certified copies of register entries from them, but I haven't looked into this in detail:

Back in 2006 I was looking for my grandfathers brothers marriage. I knew he must have married in Guernsey while he was in the Army. I emailed [email protected] and asked if they had the marriage with all the details. What came back by post blew me away. They sent a copy of the marriage and because it was in French a translation. With an invoice for £2. I sent a cheque for £2 made out to the library and a second cheque for £5 made out to the lovely woman and told her to have coffee and cream cake on me, for such fantastic service. I couldn’t believe she trusted me to send the money after the fact.

Blackmogs, it’s not a certificate that they sent me. It’s a copy of the register as in Parish Registers. Gives both fathers names. Hope you get the one you want, good luck...
