Guivers to Australia

Tenacious to the End!
Eleanor Theresa Frisby married Frederic(k) Harry Guiver in 1879 in Lambeth.

I have lost all sight of her (Fred remarried in 1896 in Southwark)

It looks as though Fred and Eleanor emigrated to Australia as I am getting a Victoria, Australia, Assisted and Unassisted Passenger Lists hint for him. I then searched for Eleanor as I am not getting a hint for her and it seems she is transcribed as Eleanor S rather than Eleanor T

Obviously Fred didn't stay, but what happened to Eleanor?

I found this:
Australian Town and Country Journal, Saturday 17 August 1895
Long Lost Relatives
"Guiver (Eleanor Theresa), last heard of
from Wandong, Victoria, in 1887, is asked
to communicate with Fred Guiver."

Is anyone able to find out more?
If only the year they went to Australia I'd be happy :)

Thanks

All I can find at the moment
Guiver Eleanor T age 27 arrived Feb 1885 on the Iberia
Guiver Frederick age 27 arrived Feb 1885 on the Iberia
I can't access Victoria BDM's but others may. I will look at other places though

Does Eliza Guiver 33 and daughter Maud 3 belong to you as well?
From Surrey, Middlesex arrived on the Aberdeen October 1885 in Sydney.
Not a very common name this end!

oooh, don't know ... it's the Frisby family I am following ... haven't delved into Fred's family yet -- might take a peek, but that would be a diversion, and the Frisbys are already a diversion :eek:;)

Don't think it's a very common name anywhere!

She appears to have done a runner. Checked Vic Death Indexes up to 1985 and nothing. Searched under Guiver and a second search with only father name of Frisby.

Try this.......
German Australian Aliens of Militarism......... blogSpot
Heinrich Andreas Ball born Hamburgh married Eleanor Theresa Frisby 1888
Have no idea where yet!
I found it by just googling her name (Frisby)

I am looking through the Australian Newspaper Records. There are lots of stories with the name Guiver, but so far no Fred or Eleanor. I will keep looking and let you know how I go.
