I have. Mind you, it is some years ago and I think that I need to go again to refresh my memory. See what? Oh yes – Agatha Christie’s play, The Mousetrap, which opened today, 25th November back in 1952.
It is the longest running show of any kind in the world and has had some fantastic actors portraying the characters over the years: Richard Attenborough, Sheila Sim, Hugh Bonneville, Sir Patrick Stewart and Dame Julie Walters to name but a few. But the longest running appearance is the voice of the late actor Deryck Guyler. He provided the pre-recorded voice of the newsreader and that same recording is used today.
Anyone who has seen the play is asked to keep “whodunit” to themselves. No chance of me spilling the beans – I can’t remember!
