I have two vacuums, a Vax which is very light but doesn't hold much fur from my two dogs and a nice pink girly Hettie that I talk to as I lead her around!

I too have a vax, vacuum/washer. Gets quite a lot of dog hair, the rest collected via rubber glove on furniture.
Feeling sad for you all re-Goldie, been there, still remember them.
Two days ago while reversing out of bathroom while scrubbing silly little floor tiles, I kept telling one dog to move over, only to discover I was talking to rather large yellow MOP bucket! but I'll never admit to it
