Delighted to have found this site via the Parish Chest newsletter. I was pulled in by comment on a project by member Lone Pine - a remarkable piece of ground on the 400 Plateau above Anzac on the Gallipoli Peninsula. The project is the transcription of an Australian soldier's diary recording his experience in 1915 in those few square metres of Turkish soil which, for the last 100 years, has been so important to the nationhood of Australia and New Zealand.

I'm also working on my FH, focused on the areas around Ripponden/Rishworth/Barkisland near Halifax and Ossett/Horbury/Wakefield and Barnsley.
