Hello from Florida USA

Hello, everyone. I am researching a family line from my mother's side of the family - LANE. What an adventure it has been! My research has led me from Georgia USA to Virginia USA to Maryland USA to the Isle of Providence in the Caribbean and now to England (Hereford). I am looking forward to learning more.

Welcome Ginny....Post away in the appropriate places and I'm sure you will find lots of help. There are certainly some interesting websites about Herefordshire as well. I love looking at all the countryside and imaging what it was like way back when our ancestors were there.

Thank you, Sue. I am really looking forward to "meeting" new people and to finding out my history. I have always loved history of any kind and this is my family history. Like you, I often love to imagine what everything was like all those many centuries ago. I have three grandchildren now and somehow that has made it more important to find out about our family so that I can pass it along to them. Right now, I really don't know where to start. I have some information indicating baptisms at St Peter in Hereford in the late 1500's/early 1600's. So, I guess, that does give me a place to begin tomorrow. Not sure of the time differences between here and there, but I know it is almost midnight here. Take care and I look forward to talking to you again.
