My family is a "died in the wool" UK Midlands family and until a few weeks ago I thought that none of my ancestors had ever left the country to live abroad. Then I came across a distant cousin living in Pinchers Creek some 200km south of Calgary and she is trying to move to Calgary.

Funny how places that previously had no real relevance to you suddenly become relevant.

You'll enjoy being on this forum if you don't mind going off piste now and again and given the weather in Calgary now is a good time to have a go.:)

I was a westerner ( Salmon Arm, BC ), but now live in Ontario. I have a son and his family in Airdrie and was just out visiting them in Sept. While there we went to Burnsland cemetery so I could "meet" my gr. grandfather and step-gr. grandmother. I also have several distant cousins in Calgary and area and hubby has some relatives there as well.
Glad you have joined us....
