Hi there!
I discovered this gem of a forum yesterday when I re-commenced looking into my father's family history. I added an entry to a thread yesterday that came up on a google search for Ellen Jane Mole (nee Smith).
I have successfully traced my mother's side of the family and partially my grandmother's side of the family. However, had not had any success finding any information on my grandfather and his ancestors.
My father, John Robert Burton was born in Moss Vale, NSW in 1927. His parents were Ethel Maud Mole (born in Elmswell, Suffolk in 1893) and William Albert Burton (apparently born in Neutral Bay Sydney around 1888). Ethel was Ellen's daughter. William left my grandmother (Ethel Maud) in about 1930 when my father was about 3 years old, leaving Ethel with four young children.
Myself and other family members have not been able to find out where William Albert Burton or his parents, Geoffrey Edward Burton and Marion Allen, came from although my father was told they were from England.
I would be grateful for any assistance on finding any information on William, Geoffrey and Marion.
