Hello from Warwickshire

My mother's maiden name was Grant, a descendant of one of the Grant family who were in Great Glen, Leicestershire for most of the nineteenth century. I've been researching their history for a couple for years, and have some fascinating stories involving riches to rags to riches, suicide, abandonment, Leicester slums, the workhouse, framework knitting, and so on. But gaps too. There are several unknown fathers, and my mother's brother and his first cousin both appear to have 'Anatolian' genes, in the paternal line. That's a big mystery at the moment. I've found the research process fascinating, and am currently exploring the links with Shropshire that seem to exist.

That is a good mixed bag! Welcome to the forum. Pull up a chair and get posting some of those mysteries.
