I have joined today on the advice of someone who has helped me greatly today on the Ancestry website.
I look forward to reading the posts and learning from you all.
I am very new to researching my family tree - only since April this year. So I hope you all forgive me if I ask things that are obvious to more experienced people.

I was born in Yorkshire (although a mile the other way and it would have been Durham!) - God's own county so they say ;)

Everyone here is really friendly and willing to help, so please dont feel afraid to ask x

Welcome to TopDog. Never be afraid to ask any question, even the most experienced will sometimes lose their way and not think of the obvious. There is no such thing as obvious in this game of cat and mouse.

Join in, and let us add to your headache :p Sometimes we go off at a tangent and it may seem to you and others that we are going in the wrong direction, but this is usually so that we can discount certain individuals.

Welcome to Top Dog LinnetLegs. Although from the south west, I lived for several years in Yorkshire and I have strong emotional ties to the county. I also have a few ancestors from there too.
