Living at Cockermouth

They're living in Grasslot, in Maryport - I've been there on my travels. I feel sure that the Isabella living just up the road at Crosscanonby and the death registered 1883 in Cockermouth are all the same person.

Hope to get up that way soon, as a lot of mine came from around Cumbria, Westmorland.

Whitehaven News 6th July 1865
W. Lumb Esq., coroner, held an inquest at the Infirmary, Whitehaven, on Thursday last, on view of the body of Francis Morrison, aged 57. Deceased was injured at Overend Quarry and had lingered in the Infirmary until Wednesday last. A verdict of accidental death was returned.

The death certificate for Francis says, he died on the day of the accident from a 'Fracture of the Right Thigh'!!

@AnnB, you are amazing on newspapers! I have a sub to Newspapers.com but couldn't find the Whitehaven News but did find an article relating to an Inquest in The Lancaster Gazette re the accident as another man Mark Walker was killed at the scene.

I found that article in the Lancaster Gazette after I had posted the other one, but got side-tracked (nothing new there) and forgot all about it until you’ve just reminded me
