Good morning...
I'm hoping you fantastic people may be able to help.....
Recently the company I work for found a box of photos/letters/driving license etc of a couple and we would like to be able to return these items to any family...
Due to the location these items were found we are in no doubt the box must have been stolen at some point.
The names on the items are a Dr George gray watt and Helen Mary frankland..
I have uploaded a few pictures...I also have other letters ect...
Could anybody help or point me in the correct direction....
Many thanks
Simon.

There are 3 births for children of a WATT/FRANKLAND marriage:
Male 1938 Leeds
Male 1944 Lower Agbrigg
Female 1948 Leeds

I have not posted their names as they could well still be living, but may be found with these details on FreeBMD.

It is possible that one or all of them are still living in Yorkshire. In this case, it might be worth contacting the Yorkshire Group of Family History Societies, who may be able to send an SOS out to their various groups.

Looking at these documents and photographs, I would imagine that they would have been kept by someone who was interested in their family's history and so there might be a chance that they were a member of a local group.

Fingers crossed!

1939 Register shows George G WATT & wife Helen M living at 53 Montgomery Terrace Road, Sheffield, he being shown as a Medical Practitioner & she a Housewife & in the Civil Nursing Reserve - no children living with them. It looks as if George G died in 1956 and what may interest you is that there is a family tree called "Watson Family Tree" for him on Ancestry and it looks as if the owner of the Tree could be George & Helen's great granddaughter, if I have read the tree correctly! You can contact her via Ancestry which might be another avenue to explore.

Janet
