Help with address

Thank you. The above is from a record downloaded from TNA. It relates to a boy seaman (Henry BIDDISS) - his mother had to sign to say it was ok for him to join up for a period of 10 years at the age of 14/15 - something to do with the Royal Navy, but what, I'm not sure. He joined in 1862, so ...

Trying to find the family in 1861 census.

(Henry James BIDDISS married Elizabeth Ann STERRY on 29 Dec 1845, Lambeth) Spelling of surname changes considerably across the census :(

I think I have them in 1851 where they are transcribed as BIDDER

HO107/1504/353/59 in Hackney
Henry b. 1820
Elizabeth b. 1824
Rose b. 1844
Henry b. 1848
Harriet b. 1851 (should be 1850 as 6 months old)

Again, think I have baptisms for all three children, but nothing on GRO etc. The only birth I can find with a mother's maiden name Sterry is an Amelia in 1844 (could this be Rosanna?)

Rose baptised Rosanna 1844 (before marriage, so not sure)
Henry baptised Henry Thomas 1848 (born 1847)
Harriet baptised Elizabeth Harriet 1850

Off to look again, but if anyone has time to join in, it would be much appreciated.

Well, they are not at 13 Alexander Street in 1861 :( Looked a couple of pages either way also. They seemed to move about a lot, so could be anywhere.

Well found, I was still trawling through Henry B*

It looks like they put Benniss Henry and then had to overwrite it
But Mason for Rosa:rolleyes:o_O

I know, if anything, it could be read as Nora - and Henrie for Henry

I have been looking for them in 1861 since yesterday. In the end, I just looked for a Henry (and variants) born 1820 +/-5 with an occupation of first Rope Maker, then Twine* - no specific place - having previously tried all sorts of variations of their actual surname and even, like you B*. Now wonder they were so hard to find.

Thanks for trying @MollyMay
