Hi from Lincolnshire

I think my gr gr grandfather was born in Boston. No at my computer at the moment, so not sure.

I was wrong he was born in Butterwick about 20 miles from Boston. Not bad for me, at least I got the first letter right :D

His son, my gr grandfather married a Scot (not sure if she was a Scot  but Campbell is a Scottish name)

Butterwick is not far from Boston. My Scots were Roger and Anstruther the Anstruther line unlocked an aristocratic family, hence being able to get back to thec1100s

Hi Homebird! Welcome! I hope you enjoy being here as much I have over a few years now!

My hubby (well, ex. hubby now, but still a close friend who drops by every week), is from Lincolnshire, so we have spent a lot of time there over the years. He (dare I say it) is from Scunthorpe, but his mother is from Lincoln. His father hails from Pudsey in Yorkshire.
Cheers, Diana in Tropical Far North Qld Australia

Hi Diana,
It is a small world as they say lol. I do have cousins in Australia after my great uncle decided to desert England, John Rodger, he was an engineer I think. It's supposed to be Spring here so if you can send some warm sun that would be lovely
Take care
Lesley

One of my paternal gr. grandmothers was from Thimbleby.. She watches over me everyday from a photo on my wall! She's one tough, stern looking old gal so I figure tough folks come from Lincolnshire. :D View media item 471

There were 16 children all total... The first one died early, but we only know a bit of information from the family bible. Much later in life she had triplets and one died at birth, and one died about 7 months from convulsions, the other lived to old age. A total of 14 boys and 2 girls! Of those children several never had a family, including one of the girls. I think the most children any of the others had was 3! My grandad is the tall blonde upper left.
