Does Horace "belong" to anyone on this forum?
He lived opposite my mum & her family, in Skidby (E Riding, Yorkshire) and sent her photos of his ship - the Royal Oak - his shipmates & even the ship's cat! He only joined the Royal Oak in June 1939 ... and on 14 October it was sunk by a U-Boat in Scapa Flow.

It obviously affected my mum (herself only 17), and she kept the photos & news cuttings in her album. If anyone would like copies, please PM me.
