I'm Canadian, eh

Hello from Pickering, Ontario, Canada. I've been researching my father's family, Simpson and Batley, from West Yorkshire since 2010. It's been an incredible experience. I found cousins I never knew I had from around the world, and best of all I found my half-sister living in England. I've managed to trace my Simpson ancestors back to 1705. A cousin I met through my family research has been working on the Batley family and has put together an incredible family tree. I guess my next project will be to research my mother's family, Mellow and Lean, who emigrated from Cornwall, England in the 1800s.

I love the challenge of discovering my ancestors and tracing their lives. It makes me feel like a detective.

Please be patient with me as I learn how to post on a forum. I'm new to this type of communication.

Enjoy your day.

Dear Elizabeth----Welcome! You are going to be amazed at the spirit, friendliness and content of this forum.
I will look for your posts in the "Cornwall" category in the future. I, too, have ancestors from the Liskeard/Linkinhorne area who emigrated from there to the States and other places with mining concerns.---Yeates
