Hello everybody!
I'm back from a bit of a holiday and have been drawn to ancestry once more. Currently I'm researching a great-great-great grandfather of mine, called Pietro Antonio Cappello, who was born in Austrian occupied Italy on the 8/9th June 1833. According to his marriage document (which I've had to painfully translate from latin), he was born in Lusia, a Comune of Rovigo, and at some point did military service. I'm guessing his military service was for the Austrian empire so currently I'm trying to find his documents. I called the Austrian state archives who told me that, to receive them, I needed his regiment's name and, after some more looking around, I've figured out that Austrian regiments of the time were recruited on a basis of where you were born. I've been searching for days for a map of the Venetia region recruitment districts from around 1850 but have had absolutely no luck...
I didn't want to unnecessarily disturb you guys but, due to your absolute superior knowledge on ancestry research, does anybody know where I could find a map of this kind?
Thank you ever so much
