Isaac Bareham, born 1813, Little Clacton, Essex.

Said to have served in the Royal Navy from 1845-1854. Have References off Family Search which are possibly service records.
BT112-116
BT114
BT119-12
Have tried entering Name, DOB, and Place born plus these references on Royal Navy Records and not getting anywhere.

Not able to trace from 1813 and not able to trace any death.
Elusive.

Help please,
Thanks

FMP have 2 entires for Isaac but in the Merchant Navy records 1841-45
The first 1841 - source is The NA - BT112

The second 1845 - source The NA BT114

They really do not add much to what you already know.

However there is another record for an Isaac Bareham b1838 Essex (could this be a son?) Merchant Seamen 1853-57
1853

There is an Isaac Bareham b1835 on the 1841 census in Clacton, but is a son of Charles and Elizabeth

So a wider family member perhaps?

Isaac BARING baptised 5/7/1813 Little Clacton St James. Father Charles mother Elizabeth. Essex and Suffolk surnames.com.uk Trees have Elizabeth as Elizabeth Potter. Charles BEARIM married an Elizabeth Potter Trendring Essex 21/12/1794.
There is an Isaac Barham age 58 mariner but born Suffolk in 1871 at Orford Suffolk and in 1861 it looks to be the same Isaac age 47 Master, British ships in Home Ports, but gives his birthplace as Gloucestershire.

It’s possible that this Isaac is the son of Charles BARCHAM/Barham/Bareham and Elizabeth Bradley. Charles born 1800 possible older brother of the Isaac in question.

There are two standout deaths for Isaac BARHAM. 1900 at Plomesgate age 87 gives birth year 1813
And 1897 at Plomesgate age 78 giving birth year as 1819.
Marriages are, 1844 to Sarah Ann Whayman….this Isaac always appears on trees as born 1819.
1845 to Mary Ann Sequins….this Isaac appears on census with Mary as born c1812
1852 This Isaac appears on freebmd listed against numerous names.
1857 Elizabeth Jordon….All marriages are in Plomesgate. The others seem a bit late to be your Isaac.
With the surname BAREHAM, only one Isaac appears on freebmd….a marriage for Isaac Joshua in 1878 and a death for the same name in 1903.
Edited to add that all trees on FS have used the 1819 birth even though they seem to be different men.

Thanks.
That clarifies the Service he was in.
Is there anyway that Crew Lists/Ships sailed on can be found?

Too many Barehams (plus local variations) abound.
The Isaac I'm researching was the Son of Charels Bareham and Elizabeth Potter. Seems now that he was definately in the Merchant Navy.
