Who has the correct tre?
I have James Harris bapt 1793 at St Keverne a son of Richard Harris and Mary James ,marrying Sarah Bosanko bapt 1797 died 1880, on the 15 Apr 1816
With consent of parents. Witnesses John Bosanko and William Roberts.
When looking for more information about this couple I found a tree that says that says Richard Harris born 1791 at Grade was a son of Nicholas Harris and Anna Warren and he married Sarah Bosanko. They also have Sarah's death year the same as mine.
At the moment I have found the couple at Roseinthon, St Keverne, Helston in 1841 and 1851 .
I don't want to have the wrong wife for James and if I am wrong it will be easy to delete Sara and children from tree, but with so little information on the marriage who is right?

I can't see how that is possible. Was the marriage for a Richard HARRIS or a James HARRIS? Or were there two Sarah BOSANKO, one marrying a James HARRIS and the other a Richard HARRIS?

I made a mistake.
The tree had James Harris born 1791, marrying Sarah Bosanko not Richard. His parents were Nicholas and Anna
That is why I am now confused as to who is correct.

Not having parents on the marriage I prsume we will never know.

Where are you actually coming from? Are you decended from this couple? Or are you following a collateral line downwards?

What do you know for sure?

It is always best to establish facts you have for certain, and then see what possibilities are available to make further progress.

Another clue can come from the names of their children. Do James and Sarah name one of their sons Richard or Nicholas? This would not be proof, but may give a hint in the right direction.

Another possibility would be to look for a will of Sarah's father to see whether he names his son-in-law and/or grandchildren. Equally, if there are wills available for the two possible fathers of James HARRIS, they may name their daughter-in-law and/or grandchildren in their respective wills.

Don't give up so easily!

I haven't followed Sarah Bosanko but there is a will of John Bosanko of St Keverne 1856 that mentions a daughter Mary and a daughter Sarah,Also a son named Richard.
Some of James and Sarah's children miiror James Harris siblings.

I think that the tree is incorrect.
Births of the children are all over the county and the 2 marriages of James don't add up.

I think that the tree is incorrect. Unless there are 2 Sarah Bosanko's with the same year of birth and death.
Two births of the children are not in the area expected and the 2 marriages of James don't add up.
At the moment in my James and Sarah tree, I have found 6 children of James and Sarah.
Betsey 1821, Grace 1837, Ann 1829. Also Jane 1831, William 1834 and Emily 1841.
Emily married Francis Rowe 17th Nov 1867 at St Keverne.
1871 sees Emily with her husband and her illegitimate son and mother Sarah at Furze Close, Mawgan, Helston.
I haven't found them after that census but Emily may have died.
Mother Sarah died 1880.
I haven't had any luck,as yet, with the other children or Francis Rowe.

1841 the family are living at Roseinthon, St Keverne, Helston, Cornwall.
James and Sarah and 6 children.
1851 living at Rosenithon, St Keverne, Helston, Sarah , James and William and Henry.
Betsey, Grace ,Ann and Jane missing.
At the moment I can't find the family in 1861.

The tree appears to be correct. His father was Nicholas.
In the census' that James had 1793 as his birth although, as I found ,his birth was 1891.and that was the date 'my' James was baptised..
That is why I followed the Bosanko marriage.
A burial for James Harris has been found with a father Richard and mother Mary and he was age 30 which matches his baptism.
I think that 'my' Richard Harris and Nicholas are brothers and that is why so many name in each tree are similar.
They both had James born 2 years apart as one example.
