Hello Knighton, My name is janine, ive been tracing my family tree and my grandmother was born in knighton, her name was Kathleen Iris Abley, daughter of john James and Mary Lizzie barnet abley.
My great grandfather was a cabinet maker on Broad street and also had premises on Church Street.
if anyone has any photographs or information/History stories about the Abley family , i would appreciate hearing from you.
I sadly lost my Mother last year and so some of the stories have now sadly gone.
Its wonderful to be on this forum, i have been to Knighton and couple of time walked around the cemetery and had the best Cake/Desserts and tea at the cafe opposite the clock tower cafe
Kindest regards
Janine

Welcome @Jaminx :D As others have said, our @Chimp is a bit of an expert on Knighton and I am sure will be able to help.

Welcome aboard Janine, sorry to hear of your loss. You are amongst friends here and we love a challengeC|:-)

Hi Janine, I received an email from you this morning, through my site, concerning fixing a headstone. I'm trying to get the information for you.

Have you tried 'Knighton & District Memories' on facebook ?

There is some information on there.

If you need any help with your research I'm ready and willing and best of all I don't charge :)

Mr Abley supplied the little coffin for my little sister in 1967.

You may be interested in my other site on Knighton.

I think the link can be clicky as I don't advertise, ask for subscriptions or sell anything and it may be relevant.
