John and Benjamin Morris Of Fermanagh, Ontario and Feckenham

Puts the Heart into Hertfordshire
This is all ultimately relating to finding the parents of Elizabeth Morris, who said she was born 1775 Feckenham, Worcestershire

I have found some DNA matches that all descend from John Morris who was, according to trees, born 1776 Kilesekera or Killskiddy, Fermanagh and died June 1870 Goulbourn Township, Carleton County, Ontario having married Mary O'Brien of Canada.

His father is said to be Benjamin Morris born 1749 Tardebigg, near Feckenham and his mother Rachel born 1753. I have found Benjamin I think as Benjamin Maires son of Benjamin and Elizabeth. Benjamin Morris married Elizabeth Williams in 1749 in Tardebigg

All the trees are unsourced and I can't find where all this has come from, or any siblings. If my Elizabeth comes from this family then her father or grandfather is likely one of the Benjamins. I wonder if anyone is able to find anything else to help me work it out

Thanks very much

England Births and Baptisms 1538 - 1975 on FMP have the birth of an Elizabeth MORRIS at Leigh with Bransford, Worcestershire in 1775.

As this is less than 20 miles from Feckenham, it could match - especially if the family moved to Feckenham when she was small, she may have believed that she was actually born there.

Her parents are recorded as being Richard and Mary.

There is a burial in the parish register of Tardebigge on 7 January 1801 for a Benjamin MORRIS & this is followed by a burial on 12 January 1801 for an Elizabeth MORRIS. Going back to your Elizabeth MORRIS who says she was baptised in Feckenham, there is a baptism in the Bishop's Transcripts of Feckenham on 14 October 1781 for an Elisabeth daughter of John & Elisabeth MORRIS so I wonder if she could be connected in some way. Have to go out now, but will have a further look when I get back.

There is a burial in the parish register of Feckenham on 27 February 1774 for a Mary MARIS and a baptism there on 27 December 1774 for an Elisth daughter of Jno & Elisth MORRIS followed by the baptism on 22 March 1778 for a daughter Mary, a daughter Sarah baptised on 19 January 1780, burial on 10 September 1779 for a William MORRIS, burial on 21 January 1780 for a Sarah MORRIS, baptism on 3 December 1780 for a son William and the baptism on 14 October 1781 for a daughter Elisabeth confirmed in the parish register but interestingly I did not see a burial in the parish register for the first Elisabeth - all these entries are available to search on Ancestry. John & Elisabeth MORRIS do appear to be the only couple having children in Feckenham in the appropriate timescale. However, so far I have been unable to find a connection with the Benjamin MORRIS of Tardebigge.
