John Davies - POB Carmarthenshire

MollyMay

Knows where to find the answers!
I am really struggling with these Welsh families and where they came from.
Can anyone tell me the pob for John Davies
1851 census HO107/2482/192/10
His wife was from Cenarth (Kenarth) but two of the children have the same pob as their father - but what was it?

Looked through list of Carmarthenshire places on Genuki -- the closest so far is Cilrhedyn and even allowing for mispronunciation/mishearing of the vowels I feel that's a big stretch o_O

We need a Welshwoman/man to help out :D

I've been having a rootle and the best I can come up with is a modern day spelling of Cilrhedyn - on the census it looks like Culrhedin to me :)

And in the time it took me to get my act together, Muggy has posted and we agree (+)(^^)(+)

Thank you both (off to google maps - I am lost without them, in fact I a lost with them:eek:)
Cilrhedyn is what Ancestry have transcribed it as - but I just could not see it.

Thanks Jan - I was looking for somewhere closer to Cenarth or Newcastle Emlyn, and was going cross eyed with all the place names
Cilrhedyn is now entered.
