Hello all. This isn't my 1st post as I recently added an entry to a thread of interest that came up on a google search for Daphne Mary Walker. It brought up some intriguing stuff I may need to look into.
My maiden name is Walker and married name is Dainton. Been doing a LOT of stuff this year looking into a story on my late hubby's Dainton name and uncovered much info about a very distant relative who murdered his wife in 1891 and was hung at Shepton Mallet! We are talking 'Harry' Dainton and the drowning of his wife Hannah in the river Avon.
Anyhoo
Now that I have discovered Harry is supposed to be still safe under a layer of tarmac and property developers have halted their plans to build luxury flats over him and others bless him (long story) I hope to do more digging this time (excuse the unfortunate term) into the Walkers. East End London stock cor blimey.
Was binge watching Channel 4 last week on All 4 - 'My Family Secrets Revealed'. 15 programmes in all and 10 have been shown at this stage. Every weekday next week at lunchtime for the final 5 and I would highly recommend it. This helped rekindle my fascination with the ice skater Daphne Walker and her potential link to my late dad. Another long story...
